The RKL4493 cable is a preassembled motor power lead produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat as part of the RKL Motor Power Cables series. It routes three-phase supply and protective earth conductors from an Indramat drive to a synchronous or asynchronous motor, while the added auxiliary conductors support functions such as brake release or temperature monitoring. In industrial automation layouts, this single assembly reduces separate wiring runs and helps keep cable routing more organized in moving machine sections. Its combined power, control, and shielding structure makes it suitable for applications where the motor cable must flex repeatedly without disrupting electrical performance.

Four copper conductors with a cross section of 4×6.0 mm² form the main power core, providing a path for motor current with low resistance. Two auxiliary conductor groups, shown as 2×1.0 mm² + 2×1.5 mm², carry secondary signals for brake circuits or thermal devices in the motor. Line-to-line capacitance is limited to 0.8 nF/m, which helps reduce reactive effects at higher switching frequencies from the drive output stage. Conductor resistance is rated at 3.30 ?/km, helping limit voltage drop and heat buildup over cable length. A total shield surrounds all cores and directs induced noise to ground, which supports cleaner signal transmission in electrically busy cabinets and machine frames.

The cable has an outer diameter of 18.5 mm and uses a PUR jacket for flexibility and abrasion resistance in continuous motion. Its outer color is Orange (RAL 2003), which matches the common machine-cable color used for power leads in automated equipment. The conductors are rated for temperatures up to +80 °C, allowing normal motor operation without placing unusual cooling demands on the enclosure. The jacket material resists oils, cutting fluids, and wear from repeated travel in cable carriers. Because the cable is approved for drag chain use, it can be installed directly in dynamic cable tracks where frequent bending and movement are part of normal machine operation.
