The RKL4492 is a motor power cable produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat within the RKL Motor Power Cables series. It connects servo drives to synchronous motors in automated machinery, carrying mains power on three dedicated conductors while providing auxiliary control lines for feedback devices or brakes. The cable is engineered for stationary routing inside control cabinets or for dynamic installation on cable chains, giving machine builders a single, pre-qualified solution for both power transmission and low-level signal distribution.

The cable's overall diameter measures 17.0 mm, a value that determines minimum bend radius and conduit sizing during machine layout. Copper conductor resistance is rated at 4.95 Ω/km at 20 °C, so voltage drop remains limited on typical axis lengths. Its dielectric exhibits a discharge capacity of 0.8 nF/m, an electrical parameter that influences drive output filter design and EMC performance. Visual identification on the plant floor is simplified by the high-visibility jacket color specified as RAL 2003 orange. The outer sheath is molded from PUR that is adhesion-free and matte, giving the cable resistance to oil, abrasion, and weld spatter while preventing it from sticking to adjacent harnesses.

For continuous cabinet routing, the conductors tolerate up to 90 °C. When mounted in moving drag-chain applications, the allowable wire temperature falls to 80 °C, which helps maintain insulation integrity under flexing. The power cores support a line-to-line voltage of 300/500 V, while the paired control leads are rated for 300/300 V. Three-phase power is delivered through a cross-section of 4.0 mm², whereas auxiliary pairs are sized at 1.0 mm² for pins 5-6 and 1.5 mm² for pins 7-8, allowing the same cable to energize sensors or brakes without additional harnessing.
