RKL4490 by Bosch Rexroth Indramat

The RKL4490 is a flexible motor power cable produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat within the RKL Motor Power Cables series. It links IndraDrive servo amplifiers to synchronous motors in automated machinery, carrying three-phase power and protective earth while routing auxiliary control conductors for feedback devices. The PUR-jacketed assembly is intended for cable tracks and moving gantries where constant motion and electrical integrity are required. In production cells, the cable supplies power to axes so that torque commands from the drive reach the motor with minimal voltage drop.

Wiring capacity starts with a 25.0 mm² power core cross-section that limits voltage drop during high current peaks common in servo acceleration. Around the conductor bundle, the sheath maintains an overall diameter of 29.8 mm, a size selected to balance ampacity and cable-tray fill limits. During reciprocating motion, the cable permits a dynamic bend radius of 7.5×D, which helps prevent copper fatigue. At 20 °C, the copper exhibits a longitudinal resistance of 0.78 ?/km, so a five-meter run introduces less than 4 m? and keeps heating low. A solvent-resistant PUR outer jacket shields the cores from cutting fluids, while the drive side terminates in a keyed RLS0723/K25 connector that locks directly into Rexroth drive modules.

Service life in drag-chain installations is rated for 5 million bending cycles, allowing multi-shift operation in continuous motion. Control logic or thermal sensors can be routed through the integrated auxiliaries, each built on a 1.5 mm² cross-section for low-loss signal transport alongside the power cores. When the machine rests or the cable is routed in a fixed harness, it tolerates a stationary bend radius of 5×D without jacket cracking. The orange RAL 2003 jacket improves visibility in the cable run, and the motor end ships with ferrules and ring terminals so the three phase conductors and protective earth can be terminated directly on the motor stud.
