RKL4489 by Bosch Rexroth Indramat

The RKL4489 is a preassembled motor power cable supplied by Bosch Rexroth Indramat within the RKL Motor Power Cables series. It links Indramat servo drives to synchronous motors, carrying three-phase power and auxiliary lines in automated machining cells and material-handling axes. A PUR, adhesion-free matte jacket shields the conductors against oil and abrasion, and factory-crimped ferrules on the U, V, and W phases plus a PE ring lug at M8 simplify motor-side connection. The preassembled ends also reduce field preparation and help keep the phase and protective-earth terminations consistent.

The cable core is manufactured from INK0606 bulk stock, with a conductor layout of 4 x 16.0 mm² + 2 x (2 x 1.5 mm²). The four 16 mm² power cores carry the drive current, while the paired 1.5 mm² auxiliaries can serve brake or sensor circuits within the same sheath. Copper resistance is 1.21 ?/km at 20 °C, which helps limit voltage drop across typical machine lengths. A nominal outside diameter of 25.5 mm supports compact placement in drag chains, and a dynamic bending radius of 7.5 × D helps protect the conductors during repeated motion. The matte jacket also helps the cable move through carriers without sticking to adjacent runs.

Signal behavior is supported by a line-to-shield capacitance of 1.2 nF/m, keeping electrical loading within normal drive limits. On the cabinet end, the molded RLS0723/K16 connector mates directly with Rexroth power modules, while the motor side uses the RLK0004 plug for a secure connection and EMC bonding. For stationary routing, the static bend radius is 5 × D, which allows orderly cable loops without overstressing the sheath. The assembly operates from -30 °C to +40 °C in fixed installation and from -20 °C to +40 °C in flexing applications. It can also be stored down to -30 °C without the jacket becoming brittle.
