RKL4488 by Bosch Rexroth Indramat

The Bosch Rexroth Indramat RKL4488 motor power cable belongs to the RKL Motor Power Cables series. It is intended for routing three-phase power and auxiliary signal lines between IndraDrive controllers and synchronous motors in automated machinery. Its design integrates both power pairs and control cores so a single routed line can carry torque current, grounding, and status connections within dynamic cable carriers on assembly lines or processing cells.

The cable supports up to 5,000,000 bending cycles, indicating suitability for continuous motion in drag chains without conductor fatigue. When fixed in place, a minimum bend radius of 5 × D protects the four power cores, each with a cross-section of 10.0 mm², from mechanical strain, and the same bend guideline applies to the protective PE conductor included in the four-conductor bundle. Four separate control wires are also provided; wires 5 and 6 use 1.0 mm² copper, while wires 7 and 8 use 1.5 mm² copper for circuits such as encoder supply or brake release. Termination on the drive side is accomplished through the RLS0723 (K10) circular connector, which provides keyed and vibration-resistant mating. For continuous current duty, the conductors may reach a fixed-installation temperature of +90 °C without degrading the insulation.

For moving installations, the thermal limit is +80 °C, and the minimum dynamic bend radius increases to 7.5 × D to reduce twisting stress during repeated motion. A metal cable gland with a thread of M32 × 1.5 seals the motor housing and provides strain relief at the cable entry point. The sheath is made of PUR and is colored Orange (RAL 2003), which makes the cable easy to identify beside signal wiring while also resisting oils and cutting fluids common in machine tools. Inside the bundle, the PE conductor is marked green and yellow for protective earth continuity during high-cycle machine operation.
