RKL4485 by Bosch Rexroth Indramat

The RKL4485 is a motor power cable produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat within the RKL Motor Power Cables series. It links an IndraDrive controller to a synchronous motor so that three-phase energy and auxiliary signals travel in the same routed assembly. A tough orange jacket, RAL 2003, molded from polyurethane protects the conductors against abrasion and cutting oils while remaining flexible on cable chains used in automated machining centers.

The cable delivers energy through 4 power conductors whose copper cores have a cross-section of 2.5 mm². Under normal service it can be energized at up to 300/500 V, a rating that matches the low-voltage standards used on Rexroth inverter outputs. Its line-to-shield discharge capacitance of 0.7 nF/m limits common-mode current, reducing bearing stress on high-speed servo motors. On the drive side the molded plug is the compact RLS0722/K03 interface, allowing direct insertion into IndraDrive amplifier fronts without field wiring. These characteristics make the cable suitable for high-frequency pulse-width-modulated waveforms while keeping envelope size small enough for tight routing ducts.

Signal tasks are handled by 1.0 mm² auxiliary cores arranged as 4 control conductors that supply brake release voltage or thermal sensor leads. At the motor end a keyed circular connector, the RLK0004, locks to the housing so that vibration cannot loosen terminations. Continuous static installations may expose the wire to temperatures up to +90 °C, and flexing tracks are limited to +80 °C to preserve PUR insulation life. The same polyurethane sheath offers chemical resistance and low friction, preventing jacket cracking during millions of bending cycles while the distinctive orange color flags power wiring inside mixed-signal harnesses.
