RKL4481 by Bosch Rexroth Indramat

The RKL4481 cable is a motor power cable produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat within the RKL Motor Power Cables series. It links servo drives to their motors, carrying supply lines and auxiliary services through a single bundled assembly so power and signal conductors can be routed together in factory automation cells. The design suits moving machine sections where repeated travel would quickly fatigue ordinary cable. By pairing flexible conductors with a drag-chain-capable jacket, it supports reliable power delivery on transfer axes, handling units, and other servo-driven equipment.

Its outside diameter measures 14.8 mm, which keeps the cable compact enough for crowded chain channels while still leaving room for insulation and shielding. The four power conductors each have a cross-section of 2.5 mm², and the four auxiliary cores use 1.0 mm² conductors for brake release or sensor supply circuits. During motion, the cable may flex to a dynamic bend radius of 7.5 × D, helping moving gantries and slides travel repeatedly without excessive copper strain. A high-visibility sheath in Orange (RAL 2003) makes the cable easier to identify in control cabinets and along machine carriers. It is also suitable for drag-chain use in systems that combine motor power and auxiliary wiring in one run.

When the cable is installed in a stationary tray, the minimum bend radius is 5 × D, which helps routing through tighter panel spaces. The outer jacket is made of PUR with an adhesion-free matte surface, so it slides smoothly against neighboring cables and resists oils and abrasion. Continuous service for fixed installation is rated from -30 to +40 °C, while moving sections can operate within the usual flexing range stated for industrial machine halls. The conductor insulation is rated to 80 °C / 90 °C for flexible and fixed installation, respectively. Four balanced power cores help maintain uniform phase behavior during motion and reduce uneven electrical loading across the motor supply.
