RKL4474 by Bosch Rexroth Indramat

The RKL4474 cable assembly from Bosch Rexroth Indramat belongs to the RKL Motor Power Cables series. Designed for machine tools, packaging lines, and other motion systems, it routes drive output to synchronous motors while carrying auxiliary circuits in the same outer jacket. By combining motor power and low-voltage control conductors in one flexible cable, it reduces routing complexity and helps conserve space in moving machine sections and cable carriers. This layout is useful in drag-chain installations where repeated motion requires a compact cable path and consistent electrical separation between power and signal conductors.

The conductor set is fabricated from bulk cable type INK0605, which uses the copper stranding and insulation profile approved for these drive systems. The power cores have a cross-section of 10.0 mm², while the auxiliary conductors use a layout of 2x1.0 + 2x1.5 mm² for brake release or temperature-sensor circuits. A wear-resistant sheath of PUR resists oils, coolants, and weld spatter, and its high-visibility finish is coded RAL 2003 (Orange) so it can be distinguished easily from encoder or pneumatic lines. Factory-mounted power contacts follow connector pattern INS0486, allowing direct connection to compatible MSK and MAD motor families without field crimping.

The cable can operate continuously with conductor temperatures up to +80 °C without degrading insulation. Stationary bends should use a radius of 5 x D, while moving axes should use a radius of 7.5 x D to limit mechanical stress during repeated flexing. It remains suitable for ambient temperatures from -30 to +40 °C in fixed routing and from -20 to +40 °C during dynamic motion. An overall diameter of 22.2 ± 1.0 mm supports a balance between current capacity and cable density, and the design is approved for continuous use in drag chains during high-cycle machine motion.
