RKL4460 by Bosch Rexroth Indramat

The RKL4460 is a motor power cable from the RKL Motor Power Cables series produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat. It links servo drives to synchronous motors in automated lines, carrying both high-current phases and control auxiliaries in a single assembly. This arrangement lets one cable serve moving axes that need both motor power and auxiliary connections without splitting the routing into separate harnesses. Two auxiliary pairs of 1.5 mm² conductors allow temperature sensors or brakes to share the route with the main power cores, which simplifies wiring and reduces cabinet space.

This cable contains four power conductors with a cross-section of 16.0 mm², giving it ample current capacity for medium-frame servomotors. The insulation system supports up to 600 V AC, matching the output of standard drive inverters. Copper loop resistance is limited to 1.21 ?/km, so voltage drop stays low on long machine axes. Stranding conforms to IEC 60228 Class 6, using fine, flexible wires that tolerate continuous movement. An overall diameter of 25.5 mm accommodates the four power cores, two shielded auxiliary pairs, and the dual foil-plus-braid screen that helps keep motor PWM noise from affecting nearby control cables. The outer sheath is halogen-free to minimize corrosive gases during a fire, and it is approved for drag-chain operation in pick-and-place gantries or tooling carriages.

The cable handling limits include a minimum fixed bend radius of 5 × D and a dynamic bend radius of 7.5 × D, so routing can be planned without overstressing the conductors during installation or repeated motion. Mutual core capacitance is 1.2 nF/m, which is important when long cable runs are used with fast-switching drive outputs. The outer jacket is molded from PUR, providing abrasion resistance, coolant tolerance, and a durable surface for drag-chain travel. These properties help the cable remain reliable on moving machine axes with frequent starts, stops, and reversals.
