RKL4456 by Bosch Rexroth Indramat

The RKL4456 motor power cable is produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the RKL Motor Power Cables series. It provides the primary energy link between a Rexroth drive controller and its associated servo motor in automated lines, carrying three-phase power along with separate signal paths required for brake release or sensor functions. This combined layout lets one cable support both motor power and auxiliary circuits without requiring separate cable runs. That arrangement can simplify routing through moving equipment where space is limited and where separate power and auxiliary cables would add bulk at each bend or entry point. The design supports fixed routing inside cable trays or dynamic movement on cable chains in machinery with moderate travel lengths.

The cable core set includes 4x10.0 mm² copper power conductors that deliver drive output current, and auxiliary pairs sized at 2×1.0 mm² and 2×1.5 mm² for low-level control circuits. A Total Shield made of tinned copper braid and foil encloses all conductors to limit electromagnetic coupling with nearby signal lines. This shielding arrangement helps preserve signal quality near fast-switching inverter outputs and other high-current wiring. The jacket is molded from PUR, chosen for oil resistance and abrasion durability, and finished with a matte, low-adhesion outer surface in orange (RAL 2003) to reduce dirt buildup. Bulk cable type INK0605 is processed to an overall diameter of 22.2 mm, held within a diameter tolerance of ±1.0 mm. At the controller end, a factory-installed INS0623 interface mates directly with Indramat inverter terminals, which helps keep cabinet connections compact and orderly.

For routing inside machines, the minimum bend radius is 5 × D for fixed installation and 7.5 × D when the cable moves cyclically, so carrier layout must respect these limits. During operation, conductor temperature may rise but must not exceed +80 °C, which protects the insulation during continuous load. The motor connection uses a keyed AEH/RKS plug that snaps into the size 4 terminal box on Rexroth servo motors, providing strain relief and maintaining the shield bond to the motor frame.
