RKL4454 by Bosch Rexroth Indramat

The Bosch Rexroth Indramat RKL4454 is a preassembled motor power cable in the RKL Motor Power Cables series. Designed for servo drive assemblies, it links the inverter output to the motor terminals while also carrying control cores for sensors or brakes within the same sheath. In industrial automation, the cable provides the physical path for power, control, and shielding needed for synchronized axis motion in drag chains and fixed routing trays. Its construction complements Rexroth IndraDrive and IndraDyn components and supports installation in packaging machines, gantries, and transfer lines.

The cable is rated for 5 million bending cycles, indicating that the conductor and jacket system can withstand repeated flexing in dynamic cable carriers. Its outer diameter of 22.2 mm affects clamp sizing and the routing space required inside panels and machine frames. Power contacts terminate through the INS0623 bayonet connector, which allows coded mating without tools. Four copper conductors in a 4x10.0 mm² layout carry phase current, and the insulation system is suitable for 300/500 V operation. Two auxiliary pairs with 1.0 mm² and 1.5 mm² cross sections carry brake or sensor signals, and the polyurethane sheath in RAL 2003 (orange) provides oil resistance and high visibility on the machine.

In dynamic axes, the cable withstands accelerations up to 10 m/s², so it can follow short-stroke gantries without added tension-relief hardware. For static routing, the minimum bend radius is 5 x D, while flexible chains require 7.5 × D to reduce core compression during continuous motion. A total shield of tinned copper braid and foil surrounds all conductors to help control electromagnetic emission. The PUR jacket remains adhesion-free, and the cable is approved for drag-chain use in tightly packed multi-axis carriers.
