RKL4449 by Bosch Rexroth Indramat

The RKL4449 cable is a motor power lead produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat within the RKL Motor Power Cables series. It is intended for routing three-phase power and auxiliary control cores between an Indramat drive and its servomotor inside automated machinery. The design supports continuous motion in cable tracks, so it helps maintain reliable energy transmission across moving axes, presses, or gantry systems where flex cycles are high. By combining power and control conductors under a common orange PUR jacket, the product reduces wiring complexity inside the cabinet and along machine frames.

For static installation, the minimum bend radius is 5 x D, while dynamic routing in a drag chain requires a larger 7.5 x D loop to keep conductor strain within limits. The overall diameter of 25.5 mm helps size conduits and allows the total shield to remain intact during motion. Electrical characteristics include a mutual capacitance of 1.2 nF/m, which matters on long runs where reactive current can affect drive outputs, and a conductor loop resistance of 1.21 ohm/km, which affects voltage drop at full motor current. A matte, adhesion-free PUR sheath in orange RAL 2003 provides oil resistance and makes the cable easy to identify. Continuous shielding wrapped over the core bundle reduces radio-frequency emissions that might disturb nearby servo wiring.

Inside the cable, four power cores sized 4 x 16.0 mm² handle high phase currents, while a separate quartet of control conductors rated at 4 x 1.5 mm² (shielded) carries brake or sensor signals with reduced cross-talk. For fixed routing, the conductor temperature can reach +90 °C. In moving applications, the lower ambient limit is -20 °C, and the upper wire temperature limit is +80 °C to help prevent insulation fatigue. The jacket resists abrasion during drag-chain cycles, and the cable is rated for chain use.
