RKL4435 by Bosch Rexroth Indramat

The RKL4435 is a motor power cable manufactured by Bosch Rexroth Indramat within the RKL Motor Power Cables series. Designed for both fixed installations and moving machine axes, this cable routes main power together with paired control leads from an inverter output to the motor terminal box or hybrid connector. Its construction and materials are selected to tolerate continuous flexing common in gantries, pick-and-place modules, and other servo-driven assemblies while maintaining stable electrical characteristics that the drive system relies on for precise torque and speed regulation.

Mechanical endurance is a key feature of the cable's design. The copper conductors and PUR sheath are rated for 5 million flex cycles when routed through energy chains. During installation, a fixed segment may be curved down to a bending radius of 5 x D, whereas dynamic sections must observe the wider 7.5 x D limit to avoid conductor fatigue. The overall outside diameter is 25.5 mm, giving adequate space for the four power cores and the two twisted control pairs. All elements are extruded as bulk cable type INK0606, and the matte, adhesion-free PUR jacket in RAL 2003 orange resists coolants and abrasion while sliding through guide channels. The jacket surface also helps reduce sticking during repeated motion in cable carriers.

The electrical design supports three-phase drives up to 300/500 V. Each power conductor is 16.0 mm² and arranged as 4x16.0 mm², while the auxiliary circuits use 2x(2x1.5 mm²) control pairs. This layout lets the cable carry motor power and control functions in one assembly, which helps simplify routing on moving axes. Loop resistance at 20 °C is 1.21 Ohm/km, allowing accurate voltage delivery over long runs. Termination on the motor end uses connector code INS0459, which mates with a metric gland thread of M50 × 1.5. The cable can remain in service with conductor temperatures reaching 90 °C under fixed routing, and the PUR sheath maintains dielectric integrity during operation.
