RKL4434 by Bosch Rexroth Indramat

The RKL4434 cable is a motor power lead manufactured by Bosch Rexroth Indramat and supplied as part of the RKL Motor Power Cables series. Intended for industrial automation, it links frequency inverters or servo drives to synchronous and asynchronous motors, delivering the main three-phase supply and companion signal conductors through a single composite assembly. Using this dedicated cable simplifies cabinet wiring, maintains predictable electrical performance, and supports continuous motion in gantries, pick-and-place units, and material-handling lines where moderate operating voltages are required.

The core bundle follows a 4x10.0 mm² + (2x1.0) + (2x1.5) mm² layout, so four 10 mm² conductors carry motor phases while two smaller auxiliary pairs support brakes or sensors. At 20 °C, each phase exhibits a resistance of 1.91 ?/km, a value that helps limit voltage drop over long cable runs in distributed drive installations. The assembly is rated for 300/500 V, matching the output section of standard low-voltage inverters. For stationary routing, the minimum bend radius is 5 × D, and when installed in drag-chain loops, the radius increases to 7.5 × D to help reduce conductor fatigue during continuous motion.

The outer sheath is colored RAL 2003 (orange) for quick identification in multi-cable carriers and is extruded from PUR (adhesion-free, matte). This polyurethane resists abrasion, weld spatter, and common coolants. The conductor insulation endures continuous static temperatures up to +90 °C and flexible motion up to +80 °C, enabling operation near motor housings or inside heated enclosures. A low mutual capacitance of 1.0 nF/m minimizes reactive current at high switching frequencies, improving drive efficiency. The design is halogen-free to VDE 0472 Part 815 and passes the oil-resistance tests of EN 60811-2-1 and EN 50363-10-2, reducing smoke and corrosion risk during a fire while tolerating hydraulic fluids.
