RKL4422 by Bosch Rexroth Indramat

The RKL4422 motor power cable is produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat as part of the RKL Motor Power Cables series. Designed for machine tools, packaging lines, and material-handling axes, the cable conveys drive power and embedded control cores from servo inverters to moving motors. By combining power conductors and auxiliary cores under one chemically resistant sheath, it reduces the need for separate cable runs and supports reliable motion in industrial automation. A single cable assembly is useful on moving axes where repeated repositioning places constant stress on external wiring.

The cable has a capacitance of 0.8 nF/m, which determines the reactive load seen by the drive at high switching frequencies. Conductor DC resistance is limited to 4.95 ?/km, helping reduce I²R losses over long runs. Inside the bundle, auxiliary conductors in a 2x1.0 mm² + 2x1.5 mm² arrangement support brake release or temperature monitoring without requiring a second cable. The outer jacket is PUR (matte), which resists oils and weld spatter in industrial settings. An overall diameter of 17.0 mm keeps the cable compact for routing through carriers and machine passages. This arrangement keeps motor power and auxiliary functions together, which simplifies routing on axes that need both supply and brake or thermal connections. The design is approved for drag chain use, so it tolerates repeated flexing in dynamic applications.

When installed statically, the cable may be routed down to 5 × D, while its minimum bend radius in continuous motion is 7.5 × D. The main power conductors have a cross-section of 4.0 mm², providing current capacity suited to medium-frame synchronous motors while preserving flexibility. The jacket color is RAL 2003 (Orange), which makes the cable easy to distinguish from nearby hoses and signal leads in dense machine layouts. The bright outer sheath also improves visual tracing along long carrier paths and through cabinet exits. These traits are useful in moving installations where abrasion resistance, controlled bend behavior, and clear cable identification all matter.
