RKL4409 by Bosch Rexroth Indramat

The RKL4409 motor power cable is manufactured by Bosch Rexroth Indramat and is part of the RKL Motor Power Cables series. It is intended for fixed and continuously moving installations inside gantries, pick-and-place systems, and other factory automation where drives must supply regulated power to synchronous motors. By combining power conductors and paired control cores in a single outer jacket, the cable simplifies routing, reduces panel space, and maintains signal integrity during repetitive drag-chain motion.

The copper power cores have a cross-section of 16.0 mm², giving a current-carrying capability that supports medium-frame servo axes while limiting resistive heating. A conductor resistance of 1.21 ?/km indicates the voltage drop per kilometer and helps determine suitability for remote motor mounting. The insulation system is rated for 300/500 V service, matching low-voltage three-phase supplies found in most Rexroth drive families. Physical routing is aided by an overall diameter of 25.5 mm, allowing gland selection and conduit planning. For permanently installed runs, the cable can be bent down to a minimum radius of 5 x D without mechanical fatigue, which helps prevent conductor strand breakage when clamped to fixed machine frames.

Supplementary signaling is handled by 2 pairs x 1.5 mm² control wires, so temperature sensors or brake release lines can share the same harness and remain shielded by the PUR sheath. The cable endures conductor core temperatures up to +90 °C in static routing and up to +80 °C while flexing, ensuring thermal stability near motors or inside warm control cabinets. It remains flexible down to -20 °C, supporting cold-start operation in unheated production areas. Drag-chain compatibility is achieved through a matte, adhesion-free PUR jacket that resists oil and abrasion, and dynamic loops can follow moving carriages with a minimum radius of 7.5 x D.
