RKL4406 by Bosch Rexroth Indramat

The RKL4406 power cable is produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat as part of the RKL Motor Power Cables series. Designed for servo and spindle drives, this cable delivers three-phase motor power and auxiliary control signals between drive controllers and moving axes on automated machines. Its multiple conductors, shielded layout, and abrasion-resistant outer jacket allow power and auxiliary lines to be routed through drag chains without separate harnesses, reducing installation space inside robots, gantries, and pick-and-place modules. This arrangement supports compact cable management where moving axes need both power delivery and auxiliary signal paths.

The cable withstands 5,000,000 dynamic bending cycles when installed in a drag chain. It maintains performance with a fixed bend radius of 5 x D and can flex continuously down to 7.5 x D during rapid axis movements. The conductor layout is 4x4.0 + 2x(2x1.0) + 2x(2x1.5) mm², which provides separate power, braking, and sensor pairs inside a single sheath. Power conductors are insulated for up to 300/500 V, so the cable supports standard low-voltage drive outputs while leaving electrical headroom for regenerative peaks. The outer jacket is colored RAL 2003 (orange) for quick visual identification, and it is molded from PUR (adhesion-free, matte) to resist oil, coolant, and weld spatter while sliding in cable carriers. Copper paths present a loop resistance of 4.95 ?/km, which helps limit voltage drop across long axes. Line-to-shield discharge is controlled by a capacitance of 0.8 nF/m, which helps the drive maintain clean pulse edges and reduce common-mode noise. The jacket material is halogen-free and suitable for drag-chain routing, and its matte surface helps the cable move smoothly through carriers during continuous travel.
