RKL4405 by Bosch Rexroth Indramat

The RKL4405 motor power cable is built by Bosch Rexroth Indramat within the RKL Motor Power Cables series. It serves as the primary power conduit between Indramat servo drives and associated motors, carrying three-phase power together with paired control conductors in one jacket. The cable is intended for enclosed machine frames or moving cable tracks where high cycle counts and limited space require controlled routing. By combining motor power and auxiliary conductors in one assembly, it reduces the need for separate cable runs along the axis. It is suited for automated assembly cells, packaging lines, and material-handling axes in industrial plants.

Its minimum fixed bend radius is 5 x D, which supports static cabinet routing without excessive conductor strain. For moving sections, the flexible bend radius is 7.5 x D to reduce twisting during continuous travel. Dynamic endurance is rated for 5,000,000 bending cycles, supporting repeated motion in drag-chain applications. The conductor layout is 4x2.5 mm² + 2x(2x1.0 mm²), combining motor power cores with paired auxiliary conductors in one cable. This arrangement supports servo systems that need both motor power delivery and integrated auxiliary connections. Conductor resistance is 7.98 Ω/km at 20 °C, which helps limit voltage drop over longer runs.

The cable has a capacitance of 0.7 nF/m, helping keep the electrical load on the drive output within a suitable range on longer runs. A halogen-free compound reduces toxic combustion products, and the outer sheath uses a PUR jacket for abrasion resistance against cable guide surfaces. The jacket material also helps the cable resist wear in routes where the outer surface repeatedly contacts guides or carrier links. Even with these protective layers, the cable measures 14.8 mm in outside diameter, which supports compact bundle routing. The design is approved for drag-chain use, so it can run in articulated carriers without added protective sleeves.
