The RKL4402 is a power cable assembled by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the RKL Motor Power Cables series. It is supplied as a finished lead that links motor terminals to drive outputs in automated machinery, carrying phase current while maintaining the shielding and conductor geometry required by servo applications. The cable is intended for servo-driven equipment where stable power delivery and reliable routing are both necessary during continuous machine motion. Within an installation, it provides a predefined length, terminated conductors, and a temperature envelope that matches the electrical zones normally found inside control cabinets and moving machine axes.
This model is delivered as a ready-made harness, eliminating field crimping and reducing wiring time. Its designated function is a power cable, so the conductor cross-section and insulation are sized for continuous motor current rather than feedback or I/O signals. That arrangement suits motor power transmission, where higher current levels and shielding continuity are more important than low-level signal handling. At the motor end, the lead terminates in ferrules and ring terminals, enabling screw-clamp connection, while the opposite side is left with ferruled cores that fit spring or cage terminals on distribution bars. During repetitive motion, the copper bundle uses a dynamic bend radius of 7.5 × D and is rated for up to 5,000,000 bending cycles before conductor fatigue becomes a concern. These properties suit cable tracks on pick-and-place gantries or robotic wrists where tight loops and long service life are expected.
The basic construction uses a PVC jacket and talc-coated cores for reduced friction when sliding in drag chains. PVC outer protection supports general industrial routing where abrasion and surface contact can occur during repeated movement. Talc-coated cores help the internal conductors move more freely as the cable flexes, which reduces binding inside the jacket. When static, the sheath may be laid at a bend radius of 5 × D without stressing the insulation. The plain-end ferrules support direct insertion into terminal blocks. Thermal performance allows continuous operation from -30 to 80 °C, and the storage range matches that same span.
