RKL4401 by Bosch Rexroth Indramat

The RKL4401 motor power cable is produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat and belongs to the RKL Motor Power Cables series. It is used on fixed or moving machine sections where servo drives must receive stable three-phase power from their controllers. By combining a screened conductor set with abrasion-resistant polymer sheathing, the cable provides electromagnetic shielding and mechanical protection for tightly packed industrial automation cabinets and drag-chain routes. This arrangement also helps the cable support axes that move repeatedly while keeping power delivery stable during normal machine operation.

In a stationary installation, the cable can operate from -30 °C to +40 °C, and it has an overall diameter of 14.8 ± 1.0 mm that fits standard industrial glands. The outer jacket is made of PUR, a material chosen for oil and coolant resistance, and it is colored Orange (RAL 2003) for quick identification inside multi-cable trays. A Total Shield of tinned copper braiding surrounds the conductors to reduce conducted and radiated noise when the cable is routed near other wiring. When the conductor temperature reaches the permitted ceiling of 80 °C, ampacity must be limited to help prevent insulation aging. For routing in rigid supports, the cable may be curved to a radius of 5 × D without stressing the core bundles.

The dynamic section of a machine often moves continuously, so the RKL4401 is built on bulk cable code INK0602 and withstands 5 million bending cycles in energy-chain service. Under flexing motion, the smallest advised loop is 7.5 × D, which helps preserve conductor geometry and insulation during repeated travel. Flexible routing is allowed from -20 to +40 °C, while long-term storage or shipment may occur down to -30 °C without cracking the sheath. These limits suit moving carriages and other servo-driven assemblies that cycle through frequent starts, stops, and direction changes.
