RKL4328 by Bosch Rexroth Indramat

Bosch Rexroth Indramat builds the RKL4328 motor power cable as a member of the RKL Motor Power Cables series. It forms the energized link between a Rexroth drive controller and a synchronous servo motor, transferring phase current and auxiliary signals required for closed-loop axis control. Controller-side termination uses the RLS0723/K06 connector, while the motor end mates with an RLS1301/C06 plug, allowing tool-free exchange during service. The bulk cable is manufactured from INK0604 to match the mechanical, electrical, and chemical requirements of Rexroth servo drive applications. Designed for drag-chain routing, the assembly supports repetitive movement in high-duty production lines.

Inside the cable, three power conductors with a cross-section of 6.0 mm² each handle the phase current without excessive I²R loss. A molded overall diameter of 18.5 mm sets gland and drag-chain sizing and also contributes to mechanical damping against vibration. The jacket is molded from PUR, giving resistance to coolants and oil spray that are common around machine tools. For continuously moving axes, the cable supports a dynamic bending radius of 7.5 x D, so a chain can be sized without overstressing the copper strands. The cable is rated for 5 million flex cycles, enabling multishift operation before scheduled replacement.

Static routing between the cabinet gland plate and the first chain link can use a minimum loop of 5 x D, preventing conductor compression when the machine is idle. Two auxiliary cores at 1.5 mm² allow brake or fan supply, and a separate twisted pair at 1.0 mm² carries temperature or encoder reference signals, isolating feedback from the power bundle. With a conductor resistance of 3.30 ?/km at 20 °C, voltage drop across typical machine lengths remains within drive tolerance, so full torque is delivered even on extended cable runs.
