RKL0073 by Bosch Rexroth Indramat

The RKL0073 cable is a motor power lead manufactured by Bosch Rexroth Indramat within the RKL Motor Power Cables series. It supplies three-phase energy from an inverter to a moving servo motor in automated gantries, pick-and-place equipment, and machine tools. The assembly has a clamp box on the motor end and a molded plug on the cabinet end, so it can be installed without field termination. Its flexible outer jacket supports repeated travel in moving cable carriers, which is important on axes that reverse direction many times during normal production.

Power conductors with a cross-section of 16.0 mm² carry motor current while limiting resistive heating during sustained load. The outer diameter of 25.5 mm allows the cable to share narrow energy chains with feedback and pneumatic lines. In moving sections, the minimum dynamic bend radius is 7.5 × D, which helps maintain conductor flexibility during repeated travel. Internal insulation withstands continuous conductor temperatures up to 90 °C, so normal thermal loading stays within the intended operating range. The cable is rated for 5,000,000 bending cycles, which suits multi-shift machinery where cable carriers open and close throughout the day.

During installation, fixed runs must follow a minimum bend radius of 5 × D to avoid kinking and unnecessary sheath stress. Factory-attached hardware includes the motor-side Clamp Box RLK3101 and the drive-side Plug Connector RLS0723, so no on-site crimp work is required. The sheath is an Orange (RAL 2003) matte PUR compound that is adhesion-free, halogen-free, and oil resistant, helping the cable move cleanly through drag chains and remain easy to identify inside crowded machine spaces. This jacket material is also suitable for continuous drag-chain use, which supports stable cable movement during repetitive axis travel.
