RKL0058 by Bosch Rexroth Indramat

The RKL0058 motor power cable is manufactured by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the RKL Motor Power Cables series. It delivers three-phase power from a drive controller to a synchronous motor and also includes auxiliary pairs for brake release or sensor supply. The cable uses a matte, adhesion-free PUR jacket and is halogen-free, allowing installation in energy chains without producing corrosive gases. By combining high-current and control conductors, it supports compact routing in automated handling equipment.

The cable is sized for medium-power servomotor circuits. The power cores have a cross-section of 4.0 mm², enabling low line drop when carrying the phase current used by most 600 V class drives. They are insulated for a continuous line potential of 600 V AC, so the assembly mates directly with standard Rexroth power connectors. A molded overall diameter of 17.0 mm sets the compression range for cable glands and guides. In moving applications, the jacket may flex to a dynamic radius of 7.5 × D, and durability in drag chains is indicated by a rated service life of 5,000,000 bending cycles. For static runs, the bend radius can be reduced to 5 × D without shortening service life.

The auxiliary pair inside the sheath uses a conductor size of 1.0 mm², which is adequate for brake magnets or feedback electronics that draw modest current. Direct-current losses across the power bundle are limited by a conductor resistance of 4.95 Ohm/km measured at 20 °C. When clamped to fixed machine elements, the copper can reach up to 90 °C without degrading insulation, while during continuous movement the allowable wire temperature is limited to 80 °C to avoid softening the PUR jacket. These temperature limits distinguish between fixed installation and continuous flexing, which places more stress on the jacket and conductor bundle.
