The RKL0057 cable is a motor power lead produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat within the RKL Motor Power Cables series. This prefabricated assembly links a servo drive controller to a matching motor, carrying phase current, protective earth, and auxiliary signals in one sheath for streamlined cabinet wiring. In automated machines, the cable forms part of the energy chain, allowing moving axes to receive stable power while withstanding continuous flexing typical of gantry, pick-and-place, or packaging equipment. That combined routing helps keep moving cable packages compact, because separate power and auxiliary runs do not have to be laid beside one another.

The core power conductors have a cross-section of 2.5 mm², which is suitable for carrying nominal motor current over typical run lengths without excessive voltage drop. The assembly uses four power and protective earth cores, and four auxiliary conductors with a reduced cross-section of 1.0 mm² carry feedback supply voltage or brake control signals in the same flexible cable. Cable routing must observe a static minimum bend radius of 5xD during installation and a dynamic limit of 7.5xD during motion. The auxiliary bundle contains 4 independent cores, and molded connectors at the bulk cable, controller, and motor ends help maintain strain relief under repeated movement. This layout also keeps the smaller auxiliary circuits separated from the larger motor conductors inside a single outer jacket.

The orange PUR sheath marked RAL 2003 (Orange) resists oils and machining coolants, and the thermoplastic elastomer base supports up to 5,000,000 flex cycles in energy-chain use. Temperature tolerance extends from -30 °C in unheated areas to 80 °C near motor compartments, so the cable remains pliable without softening or cracking across common plant conditions. When routed through drag chains, the low-friction jacket helps reduce abrasion against carrier surfaces and neighboring cables. The predefined connectors provide secure end terminations, and the outer material remains suitable for frequent motion in automated equipment.
