RKL0044 by Bosch Rexroth Indramat

The RKL0044 cable is a motor power and auxiliary control lead produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat within the RKL Motor Power Cables series. It connects Rexroth servo motors to their drive controllers, carrying three-phase power and low-level signals while accommodating continuous motion in automated transfer lines, gantries, and robotic axes. The design focuses on flexibility, dielectric strength, and mechanical life so the cable can withstand the duty cycles commonly found in industrial drag-chain applications.

The cable core uses stranded copper that meets Class 6 (IEC 60228) requirements, so each conductor remains pliable under repeated motion. Four power leads with a cross-section of 4 × 0.75 mm² deliver three-phase supply and protective earth at up to 600 V AC, while two shielded control pairs of 2 × 0.5 mm² support brake release or sensor functions on the same voltage level. The assembly is rated for 5,000,000 bending cycles when installed in drag chains, a result of the fine-strand geometry and internal buffering. During dynamic routing, the minimum bend radius is 75 mm, and a tighter fixed radius of 50 mm is permitted after installation. The cable is suitable for drag-chain routing in continuous motion applications.

The outer jacket is made of PUR, which provides abrasion resistance, coolant tolerance, and negligible off-gassing in enclosed machine spaces. The sheath is supplied in a high-visibility orange RAL 2003 color for easy visual identification. Despite the multi-core layout, the cable maintains an outside diameter of 10.0 mm, allowing tight packing in energy chains that already contain pneumatic or data lines. The conductor thermal design supports continuous operation up to 80 °C, so drive current can be carried without degradation when the cable is installed near motors or braking resistors.
