The RKL0030 motor power cable is produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat and is part of the RKL Motor Power Cables series. The cable is used to supply three-phase power and auxiliary control voltages between drives and motors in automated equipment. Its design supports continuous motion inside energy chains, allowing reliable routing of power conductors, protective earth, and control cores in pick-and-place modules, gantries, and similar industrial axes.
Its copper conductors exhibit a resistance of 7.98 Ohm/km, a value that limits voltage drop over long runs while keeping conductor cross-section compact. The power conductors can be energized up to 300/500 V, and the separate control pairs are rated for 300/300 V. A discharge capacity of 0.7 nF/m is maintained between cores and shield, reducing common-mode interference toward servo drives. The outer diameter is 14.8 mm, allowing routing through conventional cable glands, and the polyurethane sheath is a tough, oil-resistant PUR compound that withstands cutting fluids. Overall mass is only 0.380 kg/m, easing drag chain loading, and all materials are flame-retardant and halogen-free. Because the structure is certified for drag-chain installation, each conductor layer is stranded to resist corkscrewing, and a braided shield terminates to an M8 ground connection point.
The mechanical limits match dynamic servo axes: peak acceleration may reach 10 m/s² without damaging the insulation, linear velocity can sustain 5 m/s, and horizontal travel up to 50 m is supported before additional cable guidance is required. These figures apply when the cable is laid in a supported energy chain with a minimum bend radius recommended by the series. The dielectric design also controls signal rise times over extended lengths, and the jacket prevents moisture ingress during coolant splash. Ground termination by an M8 lug simplifies connection to motor housings, and the cable capacitance helps keep drive-side leakage current stable at the switching frequencies used by modern inverters.
