RKL0027 by Bosch Rexroth Indramat

The RKL0027 is a motor power cable produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat and supplied under the RKL Motor Power Cables series. Designed for drag-chain and moving-axis installations, it carries three-phase power from a drive controller to a servomotor while withstanding continuous motion in industrial automation systems. The RAL 2003 orange outer jacket simplifies identification on the factory floor, and the cable integrates auxiliary cores so braking or sensor circuits can be wired in parallel with the main conductors.

The cable endures 5,000,000 bending cycles, indicating how many flex motions it can handle in a cable track before fatigue becomes critical. With an overall diameter of 18.5 mm, the bundle fits standard energy-chain cavities and enables predictable bend behavior. Four power cores sized at 4x6.0 mm² provide the current-carrying capacity required by mid-range servo motors, and a total shield surrounds all conductors to reduce electromagnetic emission and protect nearby feedback lines. Electrical insulation and abrasion resistance are provided by a PUR (matte, low-adhesion) outer sheath, a material choice that reduces contaminant buildup and allows the cable to slide smoothly inside plastic guides.

The assembly can operate in ambient temperatures up to 40 °C, while the copper conductors may reach +80 °C without degrading insulation. For cold-room or outdoor tooling, fixed routing is allowed down to -30 °C and moving routing down to -20 °C. Installation practices are guided by bend ratios; static clamping must respect a minimum radius of 5 × D, and dynamic motion requires 7.5 × D to maintain conductor integrity. Two control pairs sized 2x1.0 mm² + 2x1.5 mm² are included to carry holding-brake voltage or thermal sensor signals, eliminating the need for a separate auxiliary cable.
