RKL0005 by Bosch Rexroth Indramat

The RKL0005 flexible motor power cable is produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat within the RKL Motor Power Cables series. It is intended to connect IndraDrive controllers to synchronous or asynchronous motors in automated machinery, carrying three-phase power and auxiliary signal pairs during continuous motion in drag-chain assemblies. The cable combines motor supply conductors and auxiliary lines in one assembly, which helps reduce the number of separate moving cables inside the carrier. This arrangement is useful on axes that reverse direction frequently, where stable power transmission and reliable signal routing are both required.

The cable is rated for 5,000,000 bending cycles, so the conductor bundle can flex millions of times before fatigue affects electrical performance. During motion, the jacket can handle torsion of ±180°/30 cm, which suits swivel axes and robotic wrists. In dynamic cable tracks, the minimum bend radius is 7.5 × D, while stationary runs may use 5 × D. These bend limits help protect the conductors from stress when the cable is routed through compact carrier systems. The insulation system supports up to 600 V between phases, and the halogen-free PUR sheath is approved for drag-chain use.

The cable has an overall diameter of 12.2 mm and uses a conductor layout of 4x1.0 + 2x(2x0.75) mm² for three power conductors, protective earth, and two twisted signal pairs. Its copper content and cable geometry support axis accelerations up to 20 m/s² and carrier speeds up to 3 m/s over a travel length of 5 m without exceeding permissible tensile load. The controller side uses an RLS0722/K01 plug, while the motor side terminates in an RLS1101/C02 angled connector. The angled motor connector helps reduce cable protrusion where space is limited near the motor housing. The assembly uses a 3 + PE power layout, which keeps the power and auxiliary paths organized in one flexible cable.
