The RKG5022 encoder cable is produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat as part of the RKG Encoder Cables series. It serves as the dedicated link between a drive controller and a synchronous serial interface feedback device, transporting the power, clock, and data lines required for closed-loop positioning. The assembly is delivered pre-terminated, so installation time is reduced and pin assignments are fixed at both ends, which helps avoid wiring errors in automated machining centers and handling systems. This arrangement supports consistent feedback transmission during routine axis motion and rapid positioning changes.

On the drive side, the cable ends in a 15-pin D-Sub plug, while the encoder side uses an angled AMP angular plug. This connector pairing matches the layout used for SSI feedback chains, giving the controller a synchronous bit stream that is resistant to baud-rate drift. Power conductors are sized at 0.34 mm² so the sensor receives a stable five-volt supply even with moderate cable runs, and the separate signal pairs use 0.14 mm² cores to minimize capacitance while still providing adequate mechanical strength. Data-plus is routed on controller pin 9 and Data-minus appears on pin 15, while the complementary clock pair exits on pins 11 and 13 so rising and falling edges remain symmetrical during transit.

Two differential pairs, identified as 2 (clock, data), form the backbone of the serial channel and help keep electromagnetic noise from distorting bit timing. The +5 V rail is assigned to controller pin 12, and the 0 V reference returns on pin 10, which keeps supply current separate from the signal conductors. An internal screen surrounds all twisted pairs and is bonded to the connector shell, providing an effective path for high-frequency interference when the cable shares conduits with motor power lines. Keeping the supply and signal paths separated also helps preserve clean transitions on the differential clock and data lines.
