RKG4202 by Bosch Rexroth Indramat

The RKG4202 feedback cable is produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat as part of the RKG Encoder Cables series. It links motor-mounted encoders to drive controllers, carrying incremental or absolute position data required for precise motion in automated machining cells, pick-and-place modules, and packaging lines. The design suits constantly flexing routing paths commonly found in linear axes and dynamic cable carriers. Because encoder feedback must remain stable during motion, the cable is intended for installations where repeated bending and consistent signal transmission occur at the same time.

Its conductor set uses 4x(2x0.25 mm²) + 2x0.5 mm², providing four twisted signal pairs plus two heavier cores for auxiliary supply or reference lines. Those conductors are built into bulk cable type INK0448, which is matched to the encoder pin assignments used with compatible drive systems. The cable has an overall diameter of 8.8 mm, so it fits standard carrier clamps while still supporting compact routing in crowded machine sections. The motor side terminates with an RGS1001 (M23, 10-pin) circular connector that mates with 10-pin encoder sockets, while the controller end is left open for terminal connection. Mechanical endurance reaches 5 million bending cycles, supporting repeated axis travel over long operating periods.

For motion inside energy chains, the cable follows a minimum bend radius of 7.5 × D during movement, while fixed installation allows a tighter limit of 5 × D. A PUR outer jacket protects the core bundle from lubricants, weld spatter, and coolant spray commonly present on factory floors. The open controller side is prepared with Wire End Ferrules, which help maintain strand integrity and support secure insertion into spring or screw clamps under vibration. It is suitable for high-cycle axes with continuous cable motion and limited enclosure space.
