RKG4201 by Bosch Rexroth Indramat

The RKG4201 cable is produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat as part of the RKG Encoder Cables series. It links optical or magnetic encoders to drive controllers in industrial automation while carrying position feedback in continuous-motion applications. Within a closed servo loop, the assembly transmits differential signals accurately so axis control remains precise during repetitive machine cycles. The cable is intended for feedback duties where stable signal transmission is required between moving machine elements and stationary control hardware. Its flexible construction also supports routing through cable carriers and articulated machine sections.

Mechanical service life reaches up to 5,000,000 bending cycles, a capability supported by the INK0448 bulk cable design. The polymer sheath has a diameter of 8.8 mm, balancing torsional strength with limited routing space. Its conductor set uses a screened layout of 4x2x0.25 mm² + 2x0.5 mm², so differential pairs remain impedance matched while the larger supply cores carry auxiliary power. During motion, the cable tolerates a dynamic bend radius of 7.5 × D, and fixed installation permits a smaller radius without damaging the conductors. The outer jacket is made of PUR (adhesion-free, matte), which resists cutting oils and helps prevent sticking inside energy tracks. The cable is suitable for drag-chain use during repeated reciprocating motion. The jacket also retains dielectric strength during extended torsional stress.

Signal continuity is completed by the preassembled RGS1001 (C01) connector on the encoder side and the matching RGS1002 (C01) plug on the drive-controller side. This hardware supports the intended encoder connection and eliminates field crimping errors. The jacket color is RAL 2003 (orange), providing visual contrast against power conductors during service. The factory-fitted ends preserve shielding continuity across the feedback connection. The orange jacket also helps distinguish the encoder cable from adjacent motor power wiring inside the machine.
