RKG0061 by Bosch Rexroth Indramat

The RKG0061 is an encoder feedback cable manufactured by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the RKG Encoder Cables series. It links motor-integrated position sensors to compatible drive controllers so motion axes can maintain closed-loop feedback without field assembly at the machine. By carrying position and signal data between the motor and drive, it supports accurate speed regulation and axis coordination in automated equipment. The cable is supplied pre-assembled with mating connectors, which reduces wiring errors during installation in transfer lines, gantries, and pick-and-place stations.

This cable is rated for 5 million flex cycles, indicating how often it can move in a drag chain before conductor fatigue becomes a concern. As a ready-made assembly, it is supplied in a set length with factory-crimped contacts that help maintain stable transmission characteristics across the run. The conductor bundle uses 4x0.5 mm² + 5x(2x0.14) StC, separating supply conductors from differential encoder signals to reduce crosstalk. On the motor side, a keyed RGS1711 connector locks to the mating encoder housing and provides strain relief during dynamic motion. When routed through an energy chain, the moving bend radius can be as small as 7.5 × D without overstressing the insulation and shield layers.

The outer jacket is colored RAL 2003 (orange) and is made of PUR, a material chosen for oil resistance and abrasion protection. During static cabinet runs, the cable can be clamped to a minimum bend radius of 4 × D, which helps it fit tighter routing paths in enclosed spaces. Internal conductors are rated for continuous operation up to 80 °C, allowing use near servo motors or cabinet heaters while preserving dielectric strength. The jacket surface also supports repeated motion in drag chains and helps protect the shielded signal pairs from wear during long operating cycles.
