RKG0060 by Bosch Rexroth Indramat

The RKG0060 cable is an encoder connection lead produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat within the RKG Encoder Cables series. It links the measuring system on a motor or linear scale to the drive controller so position, speed, and diagnostic data can be transmitted in closed-loop automation tasks. This lets the control system compare commanded motion with actual movement during operation. With the correct connector and conductor mix, the product supports rapid installation of Indramat feedback devices on production machinery and dynamic handling equipment.

The cable is rated for 5 000 000 bending cycles, indicating how often it can travel in an energy chain before conductor fatigue becomes critical. During motion, it must not be curved tighter than a 7.5×D dynamic radius, where D is the cable diameter, to keep insulation stress within limits. The hybrid core of 4×0.5 mm² + 5×(2×0.14) StC uses four power cores and five shielded signal pairs for encoder channels. A factory-fitted RGS1711 plug mates directly with Rexroth encoder sockets, reducing wiring errors. The jacket is PUR, chosen for abrasion resistance and stable flexing, while the 10.0 mm outer diameter allows routing through standard drag-chain separators. Bright orange coloring improves visibility during service, and the cable can be identified quickly in crowded machine layouts.

In stationary sections, the minimum bend is a 4×D static radius, enabling tighter cabinet routing once the cable is fixed. The sheath is halogen-free, so it releases low-toxicity fumes if exposed to fire and supports use in enclosed equipment spaces. Internal conductors can run continuously up to 80 °C, which matches common servo encoder current loads. Oil splash zones are tolerated through compliance with EN 60811-2-1; EN 50363-10-2. The flexible sheath also helps the cable move smoothly in guided paths and reduces sticking during repeated travel.
