The RKG0051 is an encoder feedback cable manufactured by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the RKG Encoder Cables series. It serves as the movable link between high-resolution motor encoders and Rexroth drive controllers, transmitting differential position, power, and reference signals with controlled impedance. By combining fine-strand signal pairs inside a wear-resistant PUR jacket, the cable supports continuous-motion axes found in gantry robots, pick-and-place modules, and machining centers. It is delivered as a pre-assembled cable set, reducing on-site wiring time and maintaining shielding continuity from the encoder housing to the drive chassis. Shielded construction also helps preserve signal quality near motors, drives, and other electrically noisy equipment.
The cable is built on the REG0011 bulk cable platform and uses a conductor layout of 4x0.5 mm² + 5x(2x0.14 mm²)StC, allowing encoder power, incremental channels, and auxiliary data to travel in one shielded bundle. Factory-molded terminations use an RGS0003 circular connector on the encoder side and an RGS0004 plug on the drive side, eliminating hand crimping and helping preserve signal integrity. A PUR outer sheath in RAL 2003 orange protects the cable from oil and coolant exposure, while the overall diameter of 10.0 mm fits standard drag-chain separators and metric M16 cord grips without stressing the jacket. This layout keeps the assembly compact enough for dense cable routing in automated equipment.
The cable is rated for 5,000,000 flex cycles when the installation follows the stated motion limits. During operation, the minimum bend radius for moving axes is 7.5 x D, while static routing can use a tighter bend radius of 4 x D without conductor fatigue. This makes the cable suitable for repeated travel in cable carriers and other moving harness paths. Service temperature extends to +80 °C, allowing use in warm machine areas as well as general factory environments. The PUR jacket's abrasion resistance, combined with the fine-strand copper core, helps keep signal attenuation low after prolonged vibration and exposure to cutting fluids.
