RKG0036 by Bosch Rexroth Indramat

The RKG0036 is an encoder feedback cable produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat within the RKG Encoder Cables series. It is intended to carry position-feedback signals between motor-mounted encoders and drive controllers in automated machinery. The cable supports both moving drag-chain runs and stationary cabinet sections, so one assembly can handle signal transmission across the full routing path of an axis. Reliable feedback transmission is important because the drive uses these signals to monitor motor position and motion during closed-loop operation.

This model is rated for 5,000,000 bending cycles, indicating its service life in continuously flexing cable tracks. During motion, the minimum bend radius is 7.5 × D, and the overall cable diameter is 9.7 mm, which helps it fit into compact carrier layouts. Internal copper conductors can reach 80 °C without harming insulation performance, so nearby components must remain within a compatible thermal range. At the motor end, an INS0379 (M23, 17-pin) circular plug connects directly to Rexroth encoder housings and provides a secure interface for incremental or absolute feedback channels. The combination of a small diameter and controlled bend radius helps limit mechanical stress as the cable follows repeated machine motion.

The cabinet end uses an INS0760 (D-Sub, 15-pin) connector for direct connection to standard controller interface cards. A PUR outer jacket resists abrasion, oil, and coolant exposure, while a Total Shield (StC) screen helps reduce electromagnetic interference on high-resolution encoder lines. Encoder supply conductors use a 4x1.0 mm² cross-section and are separated from the signal pairs to reduce crosstalk during operation. This separation helps preserve signal quality when encoder supply power and low-level feedback channels share the same cable body. The cable also uses INK0532 bulk cable with an orange RAL 2003 jacket, and its control-wire geometry supports organized routing in machines that use established wiring layouts.
