RKG0030 by Bosch Rexroth Indramat

The RKG0030 is an encoder feedback cable produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat within the RKG Encoder Cables series. The assembly forms the electrical link between a position encoder and the corresponding drive controller, carrying differential signal pairs as well as auxiliary supply conductors. By matching the pinout required by Rexroth drive families, the cable simplifies installation and maintains signal integrity in industrial automation cells that use distributed servo axes. Its shielded signal layout also helps preserve stable feedback transmission when encoder wiring is routed near motor power cables and other sources of electrical noise.

The cable has a flex life of 5,000,000 bending cycles, so the conductor insulation and shield can tolerate frequent motion. During continuous movement, the cable must observe a minimum dynamic bend radius of 7.5×D, which helps reduce internal strain. An overall nominal diameter of 10.0 mm keeps routing straightforward inside cable carriers while still leaving space for shielding. The outer sheath is made of PUR, which provides abrasion resistance and resistance to industrial oils. Inside that sheath, the conductor bundle corresponds to bulk cable type INK0280, which provides the core geometry and impedance used for RS-422 encoder signals. The cable is suitable for drag-chain use in axes that cycle repeatedly through the same path.

When motion is not expected, a static bend radius of 5×D is permitted, allowing tighter cabinet loops without overstressing the cores. The controller side terminates in a D-Sub 15 Socket (INS0761/L01), aligning with the encoder interface on Rexroth drives. At the encoder end, the stripped conductors are fitted with Ferrules (AEH) for screw-clamp terminal blocks. Power is delivered through 2×1.0 mm² supply wires, and three shielded twin pairs plus an extra 0.25 mm² conductor carry incremental channels. An Orange (RAL 2003) jacket improves visibility in crowded cable trays and helps with cable identification during panel routing and machine assembly.
