RKG0029 by Bosch Rexroth Indramat

The RKG0029 is an encoder extension cable assembled by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for machines that use the RKG Encoder Cables series to link motor feedback devices to drive controllers. The cable carries low-voltage sensor signals and auxiliary control conductors so that servo axes retain precise position data during motion. By providing a predefined mechanical build and electrical pairing, the assembly simplifies wiring inside automated conveyor lines, pick-and-place cells, and other installations that rely on accurate closed-loop feedback. This arrangement helps the drive receive stable feedback signals for consistent speed and position control.

The cable is rated for 5,000,000 bending cycles when the jacket is guided in energy chains. Under dynamic motion, the cable follows a minimum bend radius of 7.5 × D, while stationary runs may be laid on a tighter 5 × D curve. Signal cores originate from the bulk reel code INK0448 and are terminated on the drive side with the keyed circular plug INS0760. Eight paired conductors are arranged as 4 × 2 × 0.25 mm² plus two 0.5 mm² auxiliary conductors, with the smaller pairs carrying differential encoder channels and the heavier cores carrying supply voltage. The 0.25 mm² control wires support low-loss transmission over typical machine lengths, and an abrasion-resistant sheath supports continuous drag-chain operation without surface cracking.

The field end is fitted with the compact AEH plug that mates directly with Bosch Rexroth multi-turn and single-turn encoders, eliminating intermediary junction boxes. A circular outer diameter of 8.8 mm lets the assembly pass through standard cable glands while still accommodating the protective sleeve. That sleeve is made from abrasion-resistant PUR and is molded in RAL 2003 (orange), which helps identify the cable inside crowded control cabinets. The material is halogen-free, which reduces corrosive gas release during a cabinet fire and supports low-toxicity cabling requirements in industrial installations.
