RKG0024 by Bosch Rexroth Indramat

The RKG0024 is an encoder feedback cable manufactured by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for use in the RKG Encoder Cables series. It links the encoder on a servo motor to the associated drive or controller so that position, speed, and status signals are transferred with low noise and stable impedance. This cable serves as a passive link in closed-loop motion systems where dependable feedback is needed for accurate axis control. It is suitable for automated equipment that relies on consistent signal transmission during repeated machine movement.

An electrical interface based on the D-Sub 15-Pin format is fitted at each end through mating shells coded INS0761/L01. The pins use solder termination, creating secure joints that resist vibration during machine operation. Two conductors sized 2x1.0 mm² supply encoder power, while three twisted pairs of 0.25 mm² carry incremental and reference signals. A PUR sheath encloses the bundle and provides abrasion resistance, and a braided overall shield helps reduce electromagnetic interference. The cable has a circular profile with a 9.7 mm outer diameter, which supports routing through standard drag-chain carriers and machine cable paths.

The mechanical service life is rated for 2,000,000 flex cycles when the cable is bent dynamically at a minimum radius of 10xD. During static installation, the allowable bend radius is 6xD, which helps the cable fit into compact cabinet and machine layouts. Conductor insulation tolerates temperatures up to 80°C, supporting operation near motors and other warm components. The sheath is colored Orange (RAL 2003) for quick visual identification of feedback lines among nearby power and pneumatic runs. This combination of flexibility, shielding, and temperature tolerance supports reliable encoder signal transfer in moving and fixed installations.
