RKG0022 by Bosch Rexroth Indramat

The RKG0022 is an encoder feedback cable manufactured by Bosch Rexroth Indramat within the RKG Encoder Cables series. It links a motor-mounted encoder to the drive controller so that position data reaches the control loop without timing errors, which is important in automated machining centers and handling robots. By combining signal pairs, shields, and power leads inside one flexible assembly, the cable supports compact routing through drag chains and helps reduce space demands in multi-axis systems. It also keeps feedback and auxiliary conductors in one jacket, which simplifies cable runs between moving axes and fixed control cabinets.

For dynamic routing, the cable is rated for 5,000,000 bending cycles, meaning it can flex five million times before insulation or conductor fatigue becomes critical. The conductor layout follows the INK0448 bulk-cable design, which supports consistent impedance and braided shielding throughout the assembly. An outer diameter of 8.8 mm lets the cable fit into narrow guide channels while still accommodating a drain wire and foil shield. Each control core has a cross-section of 0.25 mm², which helps limit voltage drop while keeping capacitance low enough for encoder signals. Connection to the drive is handled by a 15-pin D-Sub plug, allowing direct insertion into Indramat interface cards without auxiliary adapters.

Signal conductors are insulated to withstand up to 300 V, providing a margin above normal encoder supply levels and induced transients. The outer sheath is made of PUR, which provides abrasion resistance and coolant tolerance, and its RAL 2003 orange color makes the cable easier to identify in dense cable runs. On the motor side, a 10-pin clamp terminal block housed in connector INS0672/C01 provides a secure connection, while the controller-side INS0760/C01 fitting preserves 360° shield termination so electromagnetic noise stays contained along the drag-chain path. This shielded arrangement helps protect encoder communication from interference created by adjacent motor power wiring and inverter switching.
