The RKG0014 is an encoder cable produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat within the RKG Encoder Cables series. It is intended to carry differential position feedback signals from a motor-mounted encoder to the drive controller in automated machinery. By combining closely matched supply and signal conductors in one assembly, the cable simplifies routing inside moving cable tracks and maintains reliable data integrity during continuous operation.

Its mechanical design supports 5,000,000 bending cycles so it can travel repeatedly in energy chains without early conductor fatigue. During motion, the cable may flex to a 7.5 × D dynamic bending radius; when installed in a fixed run, the minimum bend is a tighter 5 × D static bending radius. These limits guide bracket placement and help prevent shield fracture. A 10.0 mm outer diameter keeps the bundle compact while providing room for a full copper braid that forms the total shield against electromagnetic noise. The sheath is halogen-free, which minimizes corrosive gas emission during a fire and supports installation in closed production areas where safety regulations restrict halogenated materials. Approval for drag-chain use confirms the compound's resistance to abrasion and coolant exposure.

Material and electrical features complement the mechanical design. The jacket uses PUR (adhesion-free, matte), a thermoplastic elastomer that resists oil, weld spatter, and constant flexing. Two power return paths are provided by 2 × 1.0 mm² supply conductors, while encoder signals use 9 × 0.25 mm² control conductors that are insulated for a 300 V control wire rating. This separation of cross-sections balances current capacity with low capacitance for data lines. The cable withstands wire temperatures up to 90 °C in stationary routing and 80 °C under motion, allowing operation alongside motor power cables. A continuous foil-plus-braid construction completes the total shield so that encoder pulses remain undistorted in high-frequency inverter environments.
