The RKG0008 is an encoder signal cable produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the RKG Encoder Cables series. It forms the physical link between a motor-mounted feedback device and the drive controller, carrying differential position and speed data needed for closed-loop regulation. The assembly is intended for moving cable tracks on gantries, pick-and-place axes, and other dynamic machine sections. Factory-crimped connectors and a standard-diameter jacket simplify routing and help reduce wiring errors during retrofit or original machine builds. Differential signaling helps preserve feedback accuracy in electrically noisy machine enclosures where encoder leads run near motor power conductors and switching devices.
The cable spans 3.0 m, providing enough reach for cabinet layouts that keep the drive close to the axis while still allowing a service loop for strain relief. Its flex-rated construction endures up to 5,000,000 bending cycles, making it suitable for continuous-motion applications such as linear transfer systems. Inside the sheath are 8 individually insulated conductors that carry encoder power, incremental channels, and reference traces with low crosstalk. A dynamic bending radius of 7.5 x D applies when the cable moves with the machine, while a static radius of 5 x D applies to fixed routing inside the cabinet or energy chain. These routing limits help prevent copper fatigue and jacket stress during repeated axis travel.
This lead is the Basic variant, so its jacketing and shielding follow the standard material mix used for this feedback cable type. As a Ready-Made product, it arrives terminated, eliminating on-site crimping and conductor assignment. The motor or encoder side is fitted with an AEH0008 circular connector, while the controller end carries an RGS0007 plug. Shielding around the signal pairs helps limit interference from nearby drive components and fast-switching currents. The keyed shells and strain-relief nuts support secure mating and stable retention during motion.
