RKG0002 by Bosch Rexroth Indramat

The RKG0002 cable is produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat within the RKG Encoder Cables series. It is configured as a dedicated encoder lead that carries power, feedback, and control signals between motors and the corresponding drive controller in automated machinery. By combining supply conductors and shielded control pairs in a flexible jacket, the assembly maintains signal integrity during repeated machine movement while allowing continuous motion in cable tracks used on linear axes and robotic joints.

The cable has a rated life of 5,000,000 bending cycles, so it withstands repetitive movement in drag-chain installations without conductor fatigue. A compact overall diameter of 9.7 mm supports tight routing in machine frames while still accommodating two 1.0 mm² supply cores and three shielded control pairs, each 0.25 mm², for encoder channels. At the motor end, an M23 17-pin socket connector mates with standard Rexroth encoders, and the opposite end carries a panel-side D-Sub 15-pin socket for direct connection to the controller card. The outer sheath is molded from PUR, colored orange (RAL 2003), and finished with an overall shield that helps reduce electromagnetic interference in moving installations.

In static cable trays, the minimum bend radius is 48.5 mm, which helps keep conductor strain within an acceptable range when the cable is clamped. During continuous motion, the recommended dynamic bend radius increases to 72.8 mm to help preserve shielding integrity and reduce twisting stress. The controller-side hood is angled at 2×45°, so the D-Sub connector can exit parallel to cabinet walls without excessive stress on the boot. Copper conductors may operate up to 80 °C, a temperature limit that suits most inverter cabinet environments and helps preserve insulation performance during prolonged duty.
