RKG0001 by Bosch Rexroth Indramat

The RKG0001 encoder cable is manufactured by Bosch Rexroth Indramat and belongs to the RKG Encoder Cables series. It serves as the dedicated link between the motor-side feedback socket and the drive controller, carrying incremental or absolute position signals in industrial automation systems that rely on precise motion feedback. Its signal paths support accurate position reporting during closed-loop motion control.

For static routing inside a cabinet, the cable may be bent to a radius of 5×D, and when placed in a drag chain it withstands up to 5,000,000 flex cycles. A sheath diameter of 9.7 mm permits tight bundle packing while still allowing the full braid and foil screen to fit beneath the jacket. On the controller end, a 15-pin D-Sub plug with solder contacts mates directly to Indramat drive cards. The motor side terminates in a rugged 17-pin M23 receptacle that uses crimp sockets for low-resistance signal transfer. Three pairs of 0.25 mm² control conductors handle Hall or temperature channels, and the cable is approved for drag-chain use so repeated acceleration does not compromise insulation integrity.

The conductors and drains are wrapped in total shielding that suppresses common-mode noise when high-current motor leads run nearby. Power for the encoder is supplied through 2×1.0 mm² cores separated from the finer signal pairs to minimize voltage drop over distance. A matte-finished PUR (Matt) outer jacket resists cutting, abrasion, and hydrolysis, and it is halogen-free so corrosive gases are not produced during a fire. The polymer remains flexible in the presence of coolants and endures continuous contact with mineral oils and greases. The cable also has smooth bending behavior, which helps it move reliably on gantries, pick-and-place stations, and other axes that require hydrolysis-resistant, noise-shielded feedback cabling.
