The RHB2-500BBB is a hybrid encoder cable manufactured by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the RHB2 Encoder Cables series. It serves as the physical link between MS2(x) servo motors and ctrlX DRIVE inverters, carrying feedback and power conductors in a single assembly to simplify routing in compact automation cabinets. Within an installation, the cable transfers encoder signals while also supplying motor lines, which reduces the number of separate runs required on motion-control axes. This combined layout is useful where cabinet space is limited and cleaner cable management is needed around moving equipment.
Its mechanical life is rated for 5,000,000 flexing cycles, supporting continuous-motion cable chains in high-duty positioning systems. A dynamic bend radius of 7.5xD protects the internal cores when the carrier executes rapid strokes, and a static bend radius of 5xD applies to fixed routing points. The conductor bundle has an aggregate copper cross-section of 0.75 mm², which suits the electrical demands of compatible medium-frame synchronous motors. Electromagnetic immunity is improved by a double-shielded construction that combines foil and braid layers around the twisted pairs. The internal layout uses separate groups for power, auxiliary, and signal paths so the cable can support stable transmission during repeated motion.
The field end is equipped with a M17 Hybrid Connector, enabling one-step mating of feedback and power contacts at the connection point. Inside the jacket, there are 2 auxiliary conductors for brake or sensor supply and 4 signal conductors made from AWG24 wire for encoder channels, while four dedicated power cores serve the motor connection. The basic design uses standard oil- and coolant-resistant sheathing for typical factory environments, helping the cable withstand common industrial exposure. Continuous operation is supported across a temperature range of -40 to 80 °C, and that same range also applies to storage conditions. These traits suit systems that use frequent movement, compact wiring paths, and combined motor and feedback connections.
