The RHB2-023DCB is a preassembled servo feedback and power cable produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat in the RHB2 Encoder Cables series. Intended for dynamic axis modules, it routes encoder signals and motor supply lines through a single jacket to reduce cabinet wiring. Within factory automation, the cable links second-generation drive components to field devices while maintaining signal integrity during rapid motion. Its basic design emphasizes low capacitance and consistent impedance so drive controllers can read position data without error. Combining power and feedback paths in one assembly also helps keep moving cable runs orderly in compact machine layouts. This also leaves less room for tangling in fast-moving cable chains.

The mechanical life of the assembly reaches 5,000,000 flex cycles, meaning it can traverse energy chains for prolonged duty before conductor fatigue emerges. The assembly is a hybrid cable, so it carries power and encoder pairs beneath one sheath. Each power core has a cross section of 1.5 mm², providing enough copper area for a continuous load current of 15.6 A at 40 °C without exceeding thermal limits. The signal bundle includes 4 x AWG24 encoder conductors that support typical differential transmission requirements. During repetitive movement, a minimum dynamic bend radius of 7.5 × D must be observed to protect the insulation and conductor structure.

The jacket remains flexible from -40 °C up to 80 °C, allowing the cable to operate in cold-start conditions as well as warmer machine areas. Static routing inside cabinets may follow a 5 × D bend radius, and the 2 x 0.5 mm² signal pair supports auxiliary feedback connections within the same assembly. Generation 2 compatibility aligns the cable with the motor-side interface MS2(x) and the drive-side connection on ctrlX DRIVE, which helps prevent connection mismatches between different platform generations. This layout keeps the power conductors and feedback conductors in one managed cable run while preserving reliable signal transfer during axis motion.
