RHB2-022DDB by Bosch Rexroth Indramat

The RHB2-022DDB is an encoder and power lead manufactured by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the RHB2 Encoder Cables series. In automated cells, it links feedback devices on MS2 servo motors with ctrlX DRIVE inverters, so position data and motor current share one jacket. The lead is used where servo drives must receive motor current and encoder feedback through one flexible assembly. This helps simplify cable routing in machine sections with limited space and moving axes. That hybrid layout reduces cabinet wiring and lets the cable run directly between motion stages and drive racks without intermediate breakout boxes.

This model belongs to the basic design class and is built as a hybrid cable. A conductor cross-section of 1.5 mm² supports servo currents typical of compact rotary axes, while the combined cable layout keeps power and feedback lines in one jacket. Mechanical endurance is rated for 5,000,000 bending cycles in cable tracks, which suits repeated motion in automated equipment. To protect the braid during movement, the dynamic bending radius is limited to 7.5 × D, while fixed installation may use a smaller radius of 5 × D. The drive side uses an S (M23) threaded connector, which provides a direct electrical interface without separate adapter modules. The single-jacket arrangement also helps keep moving cable paths organized inside drag chains.

The cable can operate up to 80 °C and down to -40 °C, and the same temperature range applies during storage. On the motor end, the factory-molded M23 Hybrid Connector mates with the MS2(x) stator housing and carries both power and Hiperface encoder pairs. This combined connector reduces the number of separate cable entries at the motor housing. Shield termination at each plug supports EMC performance in ctrlX DRIVE systems by reducing unwanted electrical noise. The selected materials and pin layout help maintain stable signal transmission during high-speed position loops and long horizontal drag-chain travel.
