RHB2-011BAB by Bosch Rexroth Indramat

The RHB2-011BAB is an encoder and power combination cable assembled by Bosch Rexroth Indramat within the RHB2 Encoder Cables series. It is intended for flexible routing between an MS2 synchronous motor and a ctrlX DRIVE inverter, carrying feedback signals while also delivering phase current. By combining both functions in one sheath, the cable reduces wiring volume in automated handling, packaging, and machining systems. This arrangement also helps simplify routing where moving axes leave limited space for separate cable runs.

Its mechanical life is rated for 5,000,000 bending cycles, making it suitable for drag-chain motion. The power cores use 18 AWG stranded copper with a conductor area of 0.75 mm², which helps balance flexibility and current capacity. When energized, the bundle can carry up to 10.4 Aeff continuously. During reciprocating travel, the minimum bend radius is 7.5 x D. The Basic design uses a standard PVC jacket and filler system, and the hybrid cable layout places encoder pairs beside the three-phase supply lines. One end connects to the MS2(x) motor interface, and the other connects to the ctrlX DRIVE side. The stranded conductors and shared sheath support repeated flexing in linear modules, gantries, and other moving assemblies.

For stationary routing, the permissible bend radius is 5 x D, which allows tighter cable paths after installation. The cable supports continuous operation up to 80 °C and down to -40 °C, and the same temperature range applies to long-term storage. The motor side uses an M17 Hybrid plug that combines power contacts, twisted-pair feedback contacts, and protective earth in one keyed housing. This layout removes the need for a separate encoder connector at the motor. The keyed housing also helps maintain proper mating orientation during use.
