The RH2-013BBB is a dedicated encoder cable assembly produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat within the RH2 Encoder Cables series. It links motor feedback devices to drive controllers and carries both signaling and auxiliary supply conductors so position data and low-voltage power share a single routed line. In automated axes where cable motion is continuous, this part number provides the mechanical flexibility and electrical consistency needed to preserve encoder integrity across millions of cycles.

This second-generation design uses a hybrid cable format, meaning the four load conductors, two control pairs, and four feedback leads are bundled in one sheath. As a 2nd Generation cable, it uses updated materials and geometry to extend service life compared with the earlier RH1 line. A PUR jacket in orange RAL 2003 resists abrasion and coolant while remaining easy to identify during maintenance. The nominal copper cross-section of 0.75 mm² balances voltage drop against bending stiffness for medium-power encoders. For static routing inside cabinets, the conductors may reach a maximum of +90 °C, while a separate +80 °C limit applies when the cable is in motion. Internal insulation is polypropylene, and the cabling code [4× L + (2× 0.5 mm²)C + (4× AWG 24)]StC uses paired shielding around the signal group. Basic construction simplifies stripping and termination, while documented oil resistance allows routing through hydraulically lubricated machine zones.

Dynamic handling ratings show how the cable performs on moving carriers. The cable can accept a torsional load of ±30°/m, matching rotary tables or robot axis 6 requirements. Flex durability is rated for 5,000,000 double strokes when bent around energy-chain links. During motion, the cable must maintain a minimum bend radius of 7.5 × D, whereas fixed runs may tighten to 5 × D without conductor fatigue. Even after extended service, insulation leakage remains below 500 M?/km at 20 °C, helping encoder signals remain isolated from ground faults.
