RG2-510AAT by Bosch Rexroth Indramat

The RG2-510AAT is an encoder cable produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat within the RG2 Encoder Cables series. Designed for closed-loop motion systems, the assembly links the digital position sensor on an MS2x servo motor to the corresponding drive controller and carries feedback signals needed for accurate axis control. Its materials and flexible construction make it suitable for moving applications such as pick-and-place gantries, packaging equipment, and other machines that cycle repeatedly during normal industrial operation. The cable is intended for environments where stable feedback transmission is necessary even when the axis is in constant motion.

Mechanical durability is supported by a rating of 2,000,000 bending cycles, which indicates long flex life in repetitive cable carrier movement. For moving installations, the cable requires a 12xD dynamic bending radius so the jacket and internal conductors are not overstressed during travel. In fixed routing, it can be installed with a tighter 5xD static bending radius to fit control cabinets and machine frames more easily. The signal conductors use a cross-section of 0.50 mm², which corresponds to 20 AWG and helps keep resistance low across typical encoder cable runs. An overmolded M17 connector on the motor side provides strain relief and a secure connection to compatible MS2x feedback ports.

The cable uses Digital transmission, which helps the feedback channel resist electrical noise from nearby motor power wiring and switching devices. It can be stored at temperatures as low as -40 °C and as high as 80 °C without harming the insulation system. That temperature span also supports operation in enclosed electrical cabinets where heat can build around adjacent drives and power components. Stable jacket materials help the assembly remain usable after cold storage and reduce the chance of excessive softening when ambient temperatures rise during continuous machine use.
