The RG2-006ABB is an encoder feedback cable produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat within the RG2 Encoder Cables series. It links position transducers on synchronous servomotors to drive amplifiers in industrial automation lines, transmitting analog incremental signals across moving machine axes. By connecting the feedback device to the control stage, the cable supports closed-loop regulation for precise velocity, torque, and positioning tasks on packaging, printing, and assembly equipment. Its shielded signal path also helps reduce interference during repeated axis movement.

With a flex life of 5,000,000 bending cycles, the cable is suitable for continuous drag-chain movement. A dynamic bending radius of 7.5xD sets the minimum curve while the cable is moving, while a static bending radius of 4xD applies when the cable is fixed in place. The 4-core shielded conductors have a cross-section of 0.50 mm², balancing low resistive loss with a manageable outer diameter. As a 2nd Generation variant, the cable uses refined insulation materials that reduce friction inside energy chains. The analog cable layout supports stable feedback transmission where repeated flexing is expected.

The motor-side termination uses an M17 encoder connector, allowing direct coupling to compatible feedback ports. On the inverter end, the cable mates directly with EFC frequency drives, so no intermediate junction boxes are required. Compatibility with MS2x motors and the Direct Connection arrangement reduces extra connection points that can weaken low-level feedback signals. The Basic design also keeps the outer construction consistent for common gland plates and organized routing beside motor power cables in drag chains.
